New and prospective club members are most welcome at training sessions

Loughton Athletic Club is a small, friendly, club run by its members for its members. Our runners, throwers, jumpers and walkers compete in track and field meetings in the summer and at cross country and road racing fixtures during the winter.

Many of our members simply want to run to keep fit and are happy to train and compete informally. The club actively encourages this type of participation.

In the summer season, teams compete in the Southern Men's League, the Southern Women's League, the Eastern Veteran's League and the Essex Walking League. In addition the club stages its own (fairly informal) club championships for most of the Track an Field events.

During the winter we compete in the Essex Cross Country League, the Chingford League as well as County Regional and National Championships, and at many individual events. The club also stages a number of fixtures of its own.

The walking group are very active and competitive and support all the local, regional and national events. A dedicated group of runners compete every year at the South of England Fell Running Championships on the Isle of Wight and at other similar races when available.
